World Environment Day was established by the UN in its resolution of December 15, 1972 and has been celebrated since 1974 on June 5 of each year, the date on which the Stockholm Conference began in 1972, whose central theme was on the Human Environment. One of the main objectives is to give it a human context, motivating people to achieve sustainable and equitable development. It is also intended to promote the role of different communities to change attitudes about the environment.
